Everyday clothing prices
Most Dubai laundries price per item rather than per kilo once ironing is included. At Dima Laundry, standard cleaning and pressing costs:
- Shirt or T-shirt: AED 14
- Trousers: AED 15
- Shorts: AED 12
- Pyjama suit: AED 20
- Underwear and socks: AED 6
Premium service costs a little more, for example AED 20 for a shirt, and gives each piece extra care and finishing.
Suits, dresses and dry cleaning
Dry clean only items cost more because they are cleaned and finished individually. A two piece suit is AED 48 standard or AED 80 premium, a long dress AED 40, a party dress from AED 100 and a heavily embellished dress from AED 200. Leather starts at AED 80 to AED 120 depending on the piece.
Abayas, kanduras and traditional wear
A cotton kandura or plain abaya is AED 20 to clean and press. Wool kanduras and delicate or embellished abayas are AED 30. Ghutras start at AED 12, sarees are AED 40 and salwar suits AED 30 to AED 40. Pressing only for a kandura is AED 14.
Home linen, curtains and carpets
A bed sheet is AED 20, a duvet AED 60 and a duvet cover AED 40. Curtains are priced per square metre: chiffon from AED 12, standard from AED 15 and blackout from AED 20, with lower rates when cleaned at your home. Carpets start at AED 30 per square metre and on-site sofa shampooing is AED 70 per seat.
How to keep your laundry bill down
- Use pressing only for clothes you wash at home. A shirt costs AED 9.80 to press instead of AED 14 to clean and press.
- Choose standard service for everyday clothes and keep premium for delicate and designer pieces.
- Set a weekly pickup so items do not build up and stains do not set.
- Point out stains at drop off. Fresh stains are easier and cheaper to treat.
